At Alzheimer's Society, we believe passionately that life doesn't end when dementia begins. We are here for anyone affected by dementia, and we do everything we can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.

 

There are currently 982,000 people with dementia in the UK and this figure is set to rise to 2 million by 2050 (Public Health England). Women are disproportionately affected, making up 65% of cases.  That is roughly 638,300 women in the UK with dementia today. Several research papers have discovered a link between menopause and dementia (dementiasplatform.uk).
